This means the DAW is always on and in the path, but from your previous comments, that seems to be the case anyway. However, what about this setup -Ĭontroller keyboard -> DAW (via Kenton Merge) If you have money just sitting around, sure an MRCC (or any other similar MIDI patchbay) will make life easier. Squid -> multiple synths (via Kenton Thru) I believe this is what your setup looks like: Why is anything other than the analog clock pulse being sent into the E-RM? What exactly is plugged into the Thru and Merge boxes? You are my only hope.where is the computer connected into this whole setup? Even turning Local Control Off doesn't prevent the loop from happening. I have my P12 set to block as much midi data as possible (midi param, arp notes etc). So if your'e still here, how do you recommend I program it? I have an idea that I may only be able to send clock or midi but not both? if so how would I implement this in the MIdi Mapper. Thankfully you're not experiencing the dropping to the ground/kissing of feet, offers of goats etc that would be taking place if this were real world encounter If you're still reading this, you are clearly my salvation sent here to rescue me from this midi loop hell.
Multiclock manual how to#
I have persevered, mentally toiled, wandered into the wilderness, etc etc but as yet I have not correctly figured it out and haven't found another tutorial/source of info that seems to know how to program it either!. This seems to work for my other synths but is creating a midi loop for the P12.Ĭan anyone here who understands it please take the time to write me an explanation of how Midi Mapper works?įULL DISCLAIMER, yes I'm being dumb! Shoot me. I currently have it set so that 16> 16 with channel 1 ticked and U ticked.
Multiclock manual manual#
I've read the manual over and over, asked ERM for help and received a cryptic responses that only confuse matters. however the Midi Mapper is the only bit of the ERM Multiclock I don't get. I'm currently experiencing a midi loop issue with a Prophet 12 that has stumped both myself and Sequential support (it only happens when the ERM multiclock is turned on). Īm I asking too much of the world to allow this to happen!? Speed is of the essence for me when writing so I need to set and forget midi settings as much as possible and when inspiration strikes I need to be able to get ideas down and not diving into setups to change midi routing. Ultimately, I want to retain the flexibility of playing by hand/sequencing from the daw OR sequencing the hardware from the Squid. I like to be able to then use these recorded midi riffs to output back via the Squid/Thru box to the synth in question. It's easier to record these kinds of riffs back into the DAW instead of into the Squid. The idea for this setup is that sometimes while writing I like to sequence with my Squid and sometimes I need to play by hand with a synth keyboard. The Merge output signal is then sent back into the ERM Multiclock. Then hits a Kenton Thru box and is split off to my various machines.Ĥ of my favourites have midi outputs that are sent to a Kenton Midi Merge box. I clock the Multiclock via audio cable and ERM plugin from ableton.Īfter that my midi goes to a Toraiz Squid. Required for reporting device power info.So I'm trying to use the Midi Mapper to solve a midi loop problem.
